NC Marketing & Web Development Firm Offers to Save Taxpayers $17 Million07-13-2009- Wilmington, NC - Inspire Creative Studios has officially offered to save American taxpayers $17 million on the redesign of President Obama’s Recovery.gov. The White House announced yesterday that it awarded Maryland firm Smartronix an enormous $18 million contract to re-design the Recovery.gov website which serves to track the spending of federal stimulus funds in detail. “We were astonished to hear that a database-driven website that requires updates on a quarterly basis would cost taxpayers $18 million,” said Jonathan Medford, partner at Inspire Creative Studios. “Our firm could easily develop the site according to the General Services Administration’s requirements at a fraction of the cost.” Smartronix has a mid-October deadline and doesn’t list Web development as part of its service offerings on its Web site. Only one Smartronix press release has focused on Web design since 2006, and it merely noted that a single Smartronix graphics designer worked on an award-winning Navy Website. Inspire Creative Studios did not participate in the original bidding process but is now publicly offering to design this site for $1,000,000, saving the taxpayers a whopping $17 million! “We just want to do our part to help turn around the economy,” said Curtis Thieman, another partner at Inspire. “We love this country and if it means building a simple website for a measly million bucks, then sign us up. We’ll even throw in free web hosting for one month.” Inspire is a full-service marketing firm based in Wilmington that provides in-house services in advertising, public relations, design, HD video production, and web development. They have designed a variety of database-driven websites for both private and public entities. “Hopefully we are not too late,” says Medford. “If nothing else, maybe the government can hire us to design a site that will track the $18 million tracking site redesign.
